A Magical Night Benefiting Women in Need

An Evening in Wonderland raised an unparalleled $265,000 , which more than doubled our past fundraising events. The support of our gala sponsors and underwriters were key to the event’s success, as well as Honoree Harriet Harris generous contribution of the night’s leading gift of $25,000!

Our sold out crowd of 225 guests made this event truly unforgettable. Thank you to everyone who purchased an auction item, raffle ticket, or made a contribution. Your generosity made this evening a rousing success for the women experiencing homelessness served by WISEPlace!!

The mission of the gala was brought home by moving remarks from Kristen Zampa-Dawson . A WISEPlace graduate, Kristen described her personal journey from homelessness to independence. She shared, “At WISEPlace, I learned new skills, got a job, and started to rebuild my life. I am whole again.” Thank you Kristen for being an inspiration to our current WISEPlace participants and supporters alike.

During the program, we were excited to announce that we have joined with an outstanding development partner, Jamboree Housing Corporation , to help us expand our goal of adding permanent supportive housing to WISEPlace. With Jamboree’s partnership, more women will come into their own secure space where they can begin to heal and thrive. Stay tuned for more details of this exciting, new shared vision in the coming months!
We were also proud to recognize our Individual Honoree Harriet Harris and our Corporate Honoree, Bill Hirsch of Affordable Housing Access. These outstanding honorees have given generously of their time, talent, and treasure to WISEPlace and we are grateful for their ongoing support.

We are thrilled that you were part of this special night and hope that you are inspired to continue to support WISEPlace and its mission to provide housing and hope for unaccompanied women experiencing homelessness.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – BRETHREN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION’S GUESTS NOT ONLY RAISED A TOAST, BUT OVER $31,000 TO SUPPORT DISADVANTAGED YOUTH AND SENIORS AT THEIR “A TOAST TO OUR BRIGHT FUTURE” INAUGURAL FUNDRAISING EVENT

Dear Friends-

We are so thankful for your attendance at our Inaugural Brethren Community Foundation event, “A Toast to Our Bright Future.” We are thrilled to invite you along in our journey of celebrating 50-years of transformation of Brethren Service. It was wonderful to see so many family members, friends and business colleagues that have supported us through the years, as well as meet new friends representing organizations we’ve funded or may fund in the future.

We ask you to continue to help us accomplish our mission: To benefit both youth and seniors through philanthropic grants to non-profit organizations and individuals of all backgrounds needing financial assistance due to family instability, poverty and/or challenges adapting to the community.

We are dedicated and excited to make a difference in the communities we live in.

Within the next month we will announce our process for receiving Letters of Intent for our 2016 grant application submissions. If you or an organization you know would like to be on our interest list, please contact our Brethren Community Foundation Development Director, Sandi Hanscom at sandi@brethrencommunityfoundation.org. She would also like you to “Like” our FACEBOOK page…and sign up for upcoming newsletters on our website: www.brethrencommunityfoundation.org.

Lastly, please spread the word about the good works that we are doing for youth and seniors alike. We cannot transform lives and futures without the financial support and innovative ideas of people like you.

Many, many thanks…

Kindest Regards,
Board of Directors of the Brethren Community Foundation
